We built an architectural model in 3D BIM and got an accurate Bill of Approximate Quantities. For example, sandwich panels were managed to be specified by length, color and shape; all that was immediately sent to the manufacturer. All the elements occupied the final position on the space and infrastructure passed through the holes specified for this purpose.

The client was very satisfied and even printed the model on a 3D printer.

The metal frame was developed in the Tekla BIM program. Modern metalworking machines can read data out directly from 3D BIM and carry metal cutting out automatically; it significantly reduces the item-procurement time to the construction site. Then, using open BIM format IFC we loaded the metal frame into the general model.

Thanks to BIM we managed to develop a 3D consolidated plan for utility services and using Navisworks check intersections to each other, architecture and construct. It gave an opportunity to shut out formation of mismatch on the construction site.
